The Rigel Foundation recently organised a workshop in schools to raise awareness about feminine sanitation. The session focused on empowering adolescent girls from rural areas of Maharashtra, offering a safe and supportive space to discuss menstrual health and hygiene.
To provide accurate medical insights, the Foundation invited Dr. Nilam Chougule, a medical professional, as the guest expert. She addressed common questions and guided students on best practices for menstrual care and hygiene.
Approximately 350 students from Classes 6 to 10, representing five schools, actively participated. To foster engagement and better understanding, the program included interactive group activities and a quiz-style segment to assess and reinforce knowledge on menstrual hygiene practices.
The workshop received an overwhelmingly positive response from both students and teachers. Feedback gathered through a Google Form survey highlighted high levels of satisfaction, with participants describing the session as informative, impactful, and much needed for their community.
